Scientific reading focuses on clearly communicating the divine Science, or Christian Science, which is contained in our Pastor, the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. There are many aspects to scientific reading which go beyond the common concerns about word and sentence analysis, personal expressiveness, and personal effects which may be used on the Platform. Scientific reading endeavors to bring forth the natural conversational style which is inherent to both books of the Pastor and which most effectively communicates what each is scientifically saying about God, the Christ, the Holy Ghost (divine Science or the Comforter) and God’s spiritual idea, man and the universe. 

The elements of scientific reading range from gaining a better understanding of what we are reading, thinking more deeply about how to read it, and the qualities of thought essential to having consistent, healing Christian Science services.

Alex Cavalli has had many careers: plasma physicist, researching controlled nuclear fusion; technologist, developing computer models for semiconductors; early electronic commerce research including developing of one of the first internet search engines, web browsers, and shopping carts; the design and manufacture of world-class high-end headphone amplifiers as Cavalli Audio; and research into growing startup technology companies in Austin, Texas. 

Alex Cavalli’s greatest joy has come from developing and delivering live performances of The Gospel of St. John and Paul, Face to Face, taken from the King James Translation of the Bible. These performances and the response to them led Alex to helping others read the spiritual texts of Christian Science — particularly the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. Alex coaches individuals from around the world. He has served as First Reader and is an occasional substitute for both Readers.
